CEO

Wagane is the founder and CEO of Medina. 

Prior to founding Medina, Wagane was Head of Private Equity at Shelter Afrique. During his career, he spent 15years  in the Venture Capital and Private Equity Industry with a focus on the Microfinance Industry and Real Estate Industries in Africa.

He is a graduate of Paris Business School with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and a Bachelor’s degree in Finance. He holds an MBA from Georgia Institute of Technology.

COO

Joy is responsible for implementation of banking network, partnerships, reporting of the Group. He brings to Medina over 15 years of experience in Senior Financial Management.
Prior to joining Medina, Joy was the Group CFO of VISEO Madagascar Over the past decade Joy has been played a Financial Leadership roles in the Financial Sector in Africa. He has been CFO of Microcred, Senior Vice president of East Asian Bank and Bramer Bank in Mauritius.

CMO

Pierre is responsible for marketing, branding, and communication.

Pierre is above all a brand and communication passionate. Soon after graduating from the European Business School and urged by his determination of discovering brands around the world, he traveled abroad. A brand & marketing communication thought-leader with extensive international experience : expert in the development of new & creative brand & communications strategy in telecoms, banking, micro-credit, FMCG and other sectors. Has led PR and internal communications, managed teams, owned large budgets and operated as part of various senior leadership teams. His experience spans established businesses as well as startups across Africa, the Caribbean, Europe and Latin America. Possesses a proven history of improving brands and driving large increases in subscriber numbers, revenue and profit, and known as a creative leader with excellent communication and management skills.

CFO

Tirthank is responsible for financial management, internal controls, and resource mobilization.

Tirthank is a seasoned finance and management professional with 13 years of experience across revenue generation as well as core strategy centers. He was a part of the senior leadership team at TresVista, one of the leading outsourcing and consulting firms based in India, for over a decade. He was instrumental in firm’s growth from a team of <25 employees to 600+ employees. He covered 15+ sectors and worked with 40+ financial services firms, predominantly, private equity, hedge funds, family offices and boutique investment banks across their investment value chain. This includes some of the prominent global asset managers with AUM in excess of $50 billion. He is an alumnus of Sydenham Institute of Management Studies (MBA – Finance) and Mumbai university (Bachelors of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering) and is a CFA charter holder.

ADVISOR TO THE CEO

Henry is the Advisor of the CEO.

Henry is a senior consultant in inclusive finance and small enterprise development with 24 years’ working and regional consulting experience in Africa. He is co-founder and presently the Research & Communications Manager at the Institute of Rural Finance in Africa (IRFA) based in Nairobi, Kenya. He held several senior management positions and was most recently the Chief Technical Adviser (inclusive finance) with the United Nations Capital Development Fund. Most recently, Henry was Chief Technical Adviser (inclusive finance) with the United Nations Capital Development Fund.
